Achievements are currently only available in the Xbox, PS4 and Steam versions of the game.

List of Achievements

There are 31 Outer Wilds achievements. 17 of these are from the base game, Outer Wilds. The other 14 are from the DLC, Echoes of the Eye.

Archaeologist Hidden Achievement
Complete the ship log.

Beginner's Luck Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Reach the Eye of the universe in one loop. NOTE: If you die at any point, you need to quit and start a new expedition again, this needs to be done in a single loop. Wipe your save file and start a new one. (A new profile is recommended) Acquire your launch codes from Hornfels in the Observatory. Acquire the Distress Beacon signalscope frequency by visiting Escape Pods 1 or 2. Wait for the Ash Twin Project to be accessible through the warp towers. Retrieve the Advanced Warp Core from inside the Ash Twin Project. Visit the Nomai Grave within Dark Bramble - find it by using your signalscope to get to Escape Pod 3, then following the trail of light beacons. Shoot a Little Scout into the bramble seed there. Follow the Scout's duplicate signal to The Vessel. Be careful not to get eaten by the anglerfish on the way there, particularly in the red seed - there are three anglerfish waiting just within the entrance. Place the Advanced Warp Core into the Vessel's receptacle for it. Push the orb switch in the ground towards the fore of the Vessel, raising the coordinate input device. Input the coordinates for the Eye of the Universe, found in the Probe Tracking Module within the core of Giant's Deep. Activate the orb switch revealed by the coordinate input device. A faster way of obtaining this achievement is by directly heading for the Ash Twin Project without the use of the signalscope. Wipe your save file and start a new one (A new profile is recommended). Acquire your launch codes from Hornfels in the Observatory. Wait for the Ash Twin Project to be accessible through the warp towers. Obtain the Advanced Warp Core from inside the Ash Twin Project. Head for Dark Bramble, and follow the red light inside the core of the planet until you reach the eggs of the anglerfish. Tip : Once you enter the first red seed, don't move at all and you will eventually automatically arrive at the eggs. Once at the eggs, look around for large roots, and send the Scout toward them to find a core with white light coming from it that directly leads to the Vessel. Place the Advanced Warp Core into the Vessel's receptacle for it. Push the orb switch in the ground towards the fore of the Vessel, raising the coordinate input device. Input the coordinates for the Eye of the Universe, found in the Probe Tracking Module within the core of Giant's Deep. Activate the orb switch revealed by the coordinate input device.

Cutting it Close Hidden Achievement
Use your suit's oxygen in an ill-advised manner. Your suit will use oxygen as propellant when you run out of jetpack fuel.

Deep Impact Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Enter Giant's Deep ocean fast enough to break through the current. Requisite velocity is 5,000 m/s directly towards the core. Aim carefully.

Die Hard Hidden Achievement
End a time loop (Alive) after having taken (and healed) over 1000 damage.

From the Hearth to the Moon Hidden Achievement
Land the model rocket on the Attlerock.

Gone In 60 Seconds Hidden Achievement
Die within 60 seconds of waking up.

Harmonic Convergence Hidden Achievement
Pick up all traveler instruments simultaneously with your signalscope.Fly very far away from the solar system and aim your signalscope back at the solar system.

Hey, what's this button do? Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Press the ejection button in the ship.

Hotshot Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Manually fly to the Sun Station.

It belongs in a museum! Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Bring an artifact back to the museum. Bring a warp core back to the museum on Timber Hearth. These can be found in the High Energy Lab, the Ash Twin Project, or the Vessel. (Projection plates, scrolls, and artifacts from the Stranger don't count towards this achievement)

It was worth a shot. Hidden Achievement (Secret)
You tried to escape the solar system. Specifically, be at least 10000km away from the sun when the time loop resets.

Mica's Wrath Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Destroy the Model Rocket by flying into the Sun or Hollow's Lantern.

Mmmm, Carcinogens Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Eat ten burnt marshmallows.

Pchooooooo! Hidden Achievement
Fire your ship out of a gravity cannon.

Rigidbody Hidden Achievement (Secret)
De-orbit the Hearthian satellite.

You've met a terrible fate. Hidden Achievement (Secret)
No going back. You need to create a temporal paradox and destroy spacetime. You can do this by either: Preventing your scout probe from entering the black hole after it has already exited the white hole in the high energy lab. Meeting yourself inside the Ash Twin Project by jumping into the temporal wormhole and then finding out what happens.

Echoes of the Eye Achievements

Around the world in 90 seconds Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Raft around the Stranger in under 90 seconds.

The Silenced Cartographer Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Render the Deep Space Satellite inoperable. This can be done by knocking the deep space satellite out of orbit. Do note, your map becomes unusable after doing so, though this resets the next loop.

Tubular! Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Ride the face of the wave for at least 15 seconds on a raft.

Early Adopter Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Attempt to use the second artifact prototype. Curiosity killed the cat, but a time loop brought it back. The prototype can be found in the laboratory near the Endless Canyon tower, in a crate on the left when entering from the main entrance of the laboratory. The Grate Filter Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Swim through the dam grate. Not everyone makes it!

Flat Hearther Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Stand your ground beneath a moving chain elevator.

Celsius 232.78 Hidden Achievement (Secret)
This knowledge isn't going to forbid itself! Burn a slide reel on any campfire.

Ghosts in the Machine Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Reach all 3 Forbidden Archives in a single loop without getting caught.

Sleep. Wake. Repeat. Hidden Achievement (Secret)

Be woken up from a dream 5 different ways in a single loop. There are many ways to "die" in the Secret World, but only seven of them are actually valid for the achievement. These include: Jumping into water Being woken by an alarm system Getting caught by a pursuer Being crushed by a chain elevator Falling onto a hard surface, especially in the Endless Canyon Standing in the campfire you "wake up" next to in the Secret World Having your spine adjusted by the pursuers by placing your lantern on the ground, going out of load distance and bumping into a pursuer This achievement can be easily completed in the Endless Canyon or the Sealed Vault.

Simulation Hypothesis Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Attempt to use the artifact at a normal campfire. Well, that settles that!

Fire Arrows Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Shoot the Little Scout at the artificial sun in the Stranger. This requires landing the shot, which is more difficult than would be expected. You may need to fire some test shots at the artificial sun to get a feeling for the Coriolis force experienced within the Stranger.

1 / 900 Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Yahaha! You found me! Go on the top of the building in the Endless Canyon. Activate the pursuers, go to the top floor, jump out the window onto the roof and go to the top. Light the candle at the top edge on the non-rockface side with the artifact. It appears as a poop (glitch mode) or a crude, wooden representation of a Korok (regular view)

You'll Never Take Me Alive! Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Escape your pursuers by jumping to your "death" instead of dodging past them. Fatal heights from which to jump onto hard surfaces are seldom found in the Secret World; this refers to jumping into water while a pursuer is chasing you. You must activate the indoor bridge in Endless Canyon, and then fall into the water left of its torch.

Oof Ouch, My Bones Hidden Achievement (Secret)
Have your spine adjusted by a pursuer. Enter the Secret World and get caught by a pursuer with your lantern placed on the ground.

• Die Hard! may be a reference to a movie of the same name.
• Gone in 60 Seconds is also another reference to a movie with the same name
• Deep Impact may be a reference to the science fiction movie Deep Impact.
• Deep Impact may be a reference to a NASA spacecraft.
• From the Hearth to the Moon is a reference to the book by Jules Verne, titled From the Earth to the Moon.
• It Belongs in a Museum is a reference to Indiana Jones, who says this line about the Cross of Coronado.
• Pchooooooo! is likely a reference to an onomatopoeia frequently used in the webcomic Homestuck.
• Around The World in 90 Seconds is a reference to the book and movie Around The World in 80 Days.
• The Silenced Cartographer likely is a reference to The Silent Cartographer, a stage in Halo: Combat Evolved.
• The Grate Filter is a reference to the great filter, a theory about why no alien species are currently known.
• Celsius 232.78 is a reference to the book Fahrenheit 451, a book about a man who burns books, hence the achievement requiring you to burn slide reels.
• Flat Hearther is a pun of "flat earther" with Hearthians. It references the silly conspiracy theory that the earth is actually flat.
• Ghosts in the machine is likely a reference to a philisophical theory by Decartes in which mental and physical activity occur entirely seperate from each other. The achievement's image may be a reference to Pac-Man.
• 1/900 is a reference to koroks from Breath of the Wild, with there being 900 of them scattered around the map to find, hence the 1/900. "Yahaha! You found me!" is the dialogue they make whenever you find one accompanied with the noise "Yahaha".
• Fire Arrows is a reference to Ocarina of Time, where Link must shoot regular arrows into the sun to obtain fire arrows.
• You've Met A Terrible Fate is a reference to Majora's Mask, wherein the Happy Mask Salesman introduces himself with the line "You've met a terrible fate, haven't you?"
• Oof Ouch My Bones is a reference to a meme in which characters accidentally drink "bone hurting juice" and say Oof ouch my bones.
• Simulation Hypothesis references the philosophical theory of the same name, in which all of reality may be part of a simulation. The achievement icon is also a reference to the movie The Matrix.
• Harmonic Convergence is likely a reference to the name given to the world's first synchronized global peace meditation of which was also referenced in the television show Avatar: Legend of Korra.
