The Eye of the Universe is an extremely old planetary object in a distant orbit around the Sun. Reaching the Eye of the Universe represents the intended goal of the game.

History

The Nomai of Escall's Vessel became interested in the Eye of the Universe following a signal broadcast from it. After the loss of their Vessel following their abrupt warp to the Solar System, they continued their search by building the Eye Signal Locator on the The Attlerock. After the Eye Signal Locator failed they began constructing much more sophisticated machines such as the Orbital Probe Cannon, Sun Station and Ash Twin Project in order to locate the Eye of the Universe.

While the Nomai never lived to see it, the combined effort of the Orbital Probe Cannon and Ash Twin Project were eventually able to locate the Eye of the Universe.

Description

The true age, nature, or purpose of the Eye of the Universe is never revealed. Information regarding the Eye of the Universe is in the form of Nomai Speculation. The Nomai speculated that the Eye is older than the Universe, a fact that puzzles them greatly. They also speculated as to whether it could be conscious or malicious.

Features

The Eye of the Universe features an incredibly powerful quantum storm, capable of permanently severing connection to the player's scout probe. The Eye of the Universe also appears to be a highly quantum object and is indirectly the source of all quantum objects within the Solar System. It's moon, the Quantum Moon, can frequently be seen orbiting every planet in the Solar System.

Location

The Eye of the Universe cannot be found by conventional means and is unreachable until the player discovers the coordinates within the Probe Tracking Module at the core of Giant's Deep and is able to repair the The Vessel's warp drive by removing the Advanced Warp Core powering the Ash Twin Project. The Eye of the Universe is the farthest celestial body from the Sun, far outside the reach of the supernova.

Notes

  • While on the Eye, the player cannot run out of oxygen or fuel.
  • If the player fires their probe on the Eye of the Universe, connection will permanently be severed.
  • If reached near the end of a loop, the Sun can be seen going supernova safely from the surface of the Eye of the Universe.
